About

I’m an aesthetician.  I highlight the beauty in unexpected things, in packages of steak and people playing with their cellphones on a train bench, the bright colors in a darkened face, birds dying on an island because of the plastic garbage they’ve eaten, skulls and raves and raptors.  Natural systems, emerging from seed, egg, and molten core, putrifying and dying, all have an inherent integrity to them that we lump with the word “beauty.”  By their exquisite artifice we know their health and universality. They are models for us to create the artificial world in their image: the work of the artist.
